Edna Morgan

For those of us who knew her, it is hard to think of Jasper Animal Rescue Mission without remembering Edna Morgan. She was a volunteer at the shelter for years, and gave generously of herself and of her wealth when she saw a need - and there was plenty of need! Miss Edna, as she was affectionately called, was on the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee that eventually caused the establishment of the 501(c)3 non-profit organization we now know as JARM.

From the first day of operation, July 1, 2005, until the day she died a few years later, Miss Edna concerned herself with the welfare of the dogs and cats, the appearance of the facilities, the morale of the staff, and the integrity of the Board of Directors of JARM. In spite of her advanced years and frailty, she was often heard actually apologizing for not being about to help with the work at JARM.

It was not surprising that she remembered JARM in her will, establishing an endowment fund that will continue her good work.

It is with love and gratitude that the JARM Board of Directors and Staff dedicate this website in Miss Edna's memory now, so that her industrious generous spirit will live on in discerning hearts and willing hands of those who continue to care for the animals that pass through our doors.
